A very graphic, gross Finnish noir mystery . A likable Inspector Vaara with his pregnant wife are back in Helsinki Vaara is chosen by higher ups to investigate an elderly WW2 hero of war crimes and genocide at a Karelian concentration camp. Meanwhile, he's working in the violent murder of a Finno-Russian CEO's wife found dead in bed with her Estonian horseback riding instructor. Brutal visuals.

Not my first readthrough, I come back to this book periodically. Great coming of age YA that covers grief, sexuality, and other things I can't think of right now. I also like that it takes place in the 90s.

A very nice collection of pilgrimages, I enjoyed reading it very much.

A murder mystery, but also a lesson on plants and animals. She also hasa beautiful, insightful way of describing the subtleties and complexities of human emotions.

Audiobook was very enjoyable!

I like the chapter about the bright pair of socks.
